The 10,000th unit of Audi's TT 2.0 TDI model has rolled off the assembly lines this week. This milestone is proof that the diesel TT is an appealing vehicle for TT customers. Audi revealed that the proportion of TDI models purchased has been rising steadily since 2008. Audi said that the TT TDI is its first series-production sports car with a diesel engine. The car is powered by 2.0l units which delivers 170 hp and 258.15 lb-ft of torque from its four cylinders. The TT's coupe body style version boasts a fuel consumption rate of 5.3l/100 km (44 mpg), one of the lowest in the sports car segment. The car's CO2 emission levels are at 139 g/km. The revised version of the TDI engine has performance figures that are incredible. The coupe version of the TT is able to accelerate from a standstill to 62mph in 7.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 226 km/h (140 mph).
