Pontiac Trans Am Gold Special

The world’s cleanest Pontiac Trans Am is on sale for $45,900 -- deemed to be a follow-up to the unveiling of the world’s cleanest retro Camaro. The restoration done on the 1978 Trans Am -- a Gold Special Edition model – had been quite extensive. It was restored from the frame up and it boasts of having just 11,237 miles on it. It was in 2009 that the vehicle was sold to its second owner, who then got Tom Fischer of Muscle Car Alley to complete a frame-off rotisserie restoration. At the time, the only new parts attached to its straight, original body were a new tail panel and quarter panel.

As soon as the bodywork was accomplished, GM’s Solar Gold paint was sprayed on it. The Gold Special Edition Trans Am is powered by the original 400-cubic inch V8 but was upgraded with a mild cam swap to make it produce 300hp. This vehicle has a clean and pristine look, aided with the use of the GM satin black paint in the bay. Its interior features a distinctive retro combination of Camel Tan upholstery with Special Edition Trans Am gold trim.

Each corner has an upgraded 15-inch Special Edition wheel finished in an exclusive gold snowflake. A big series of documents will arrive together with the sale of this vehicle. These include the vehicle’s original build sheet, a two page original window sticker, original purchase invoice, original owner’s manual and warranty book, an original order acknowledgement sheet maintenance records, restoration photos, ownership history, and even a stack of restoration receipts.
