Audi unveiled today at the 2008 LA Design Challenge its new R25, the most recent model in its celebrated race car array. The opening round of the ALMS 2025 in Los Angeles integrated novel features never before witnessed in any form of motor sports, such as the high-velocity banks and tunnels which permit cars to race up-side-down. The top sections of the banks and tunnels are equipped with wireless electricity technology (WiTricity) where drivers can use to avail of free electrical charges for their electric cars.

The R25 is intended to operate and do extremely well in this innovative racing environment, with feature as: 1) A new Dynamic Space Frame that provides greater flexibility, combination of circuits and firmness; 2) The use of Algae bio fuel for staying power and electric motor capacity through Wireless power transfer technology; 3) The Audi design philosophy of 'Form is Function' which streamlines the vehicle so that there is no unnecessary element to be found in the car.

The R25 employs dynamic micro-control surfaces which maximizes the airflow during the race; a helmet visor that enables a smooth man-machine interface; dynamic sensors all around the car with built-in High Definition cameras with real-time data transmission to allow for observer interactivity, providing race fans a virtual experience of the race in any of the vehicles via monitors and Virtual Reality cubicles.
