2008 Sao Paulo Motor Show: Renault Sand’up Concept

Due to the fact that today the 2008 Sao Paulo Motor Show started, Renault Design America Latina, the design center of Renault in Brazil, unveiled the Sand´up Concept, a new vehicle based on the Sandero Stepway (available for the moment only in Argentina and Brazil) which made its Brazilian debut this month. The new Sand´up Concept represents 3 vehicles in 1: a coupe, cabriolet and pick-up (the vehicle changes according to the desires of the passengers). With its gray color, Sand' up Concept evokes sophistication and robustness whereas the various inserts red underline underlines the sportivity of the vehicle. The front face of Sand' up Concept is distinguished from the Sandero Stepway by the red line which makes the contour of the front bumper but also from the re-designed spoiler.

The design of the vehicle is completed by the 18 inch alloy wheels painted in black in contrast with the red brake calipers. The new Sand´up Concept, features a 40 cm loading board which can be very useful when you want to put something heavier in the trunk. With a length of 1,7 meters, the trunk of the vehicle can carry motorcycles, jet skis, bikes or surf boards. The new concept has a length of 4.1 meters, width of 1. Meters, a height of 1.62 meters and can carry up to 500 kg. Under the hood, the vehicle features a 1.6-liter engine with 4 cylinders and 16V which can develop 107 hp when running on regular gas or 110 hp when using alcohol (148 Nm or torque or 152 Nm when running on alcohol). The sprint of the vehicle is made in 10.6 seconds with petrol and 10,5 seconds when using alcohol.
