2009 Cadillac Escalade Platinum Hybrid

The Escalade is offered in both hybrid and Platinum versions, but this most current offering merges the "green" powertrain of the former with the features of the latter version. With the Plantinum version, a number of significant touches were added both in the interior and exterior of the SUV, including a distinctive grill, LED headlights, Aniline leather seating, magnetic ride control and distinctive aluminum wheels in 22 inches.

The new model will utilize the 6.0-liter V8, just like the "lesser" Escalade Hybrid, paired to General Motor's 2-Mode hybrid system. Economy figures have not yet been released up to this time, but it is expected to be around 20 mpg city and 21 mpg highway which are the same figures that come with the two-wheel-drive Escalade Hybrid.

There will instead be a boost in price. A two-wheel-drive Escalade Hybrid comes with an $83,385 price tag, about $1,000 higher than the two-wheel-drive Platinum and about $9,300 over the standard Escalade Hybrid. A sticker of $88,385 will be the base price for an FWD Escalade Platinum Hybrid model.
