2009 Chevrolet Corvette Hero Edition ZR1 breaks cover
As GM’s way of honoring the Kids Wish Network’s “Hero of the Month,” a child who has surmounted a harrowing and life-altering experience with bravery and character, the carmaker produced the Corvette ZR1 “Hero Edition.”
Coming along with the special edition ZR1 is a Black and Red 1967 Corvette 427/390 hp convertible. Both will be given away at a raffle in the Win the Vette’s Corvette Dream Giveaway at the end of the year. The ZR1 Hero Edition carries the serial number 1 of 1 since it is the sole Corvette ZR1 ever made with red highlights, unique graphics, and extra carbon fiber parts. Power under the hood comes from the Eaton supercharged 638hp LS9 V8 power unit which can be seen through the polycarbonate window of the engine cover. Furthermore, the well known blue cowl engine covering has been substituted by a unique red version. The ZR1 also comes with extremely unique logos and embroideries placing it in a special niche in the long history of cars. Photo gallery after the jump!
