The latest Saab announced for the Detroit Auto Show is the 9-5 Griffin Edition. Why Griffin you ask? Well, according to the manufacturer this comes from the Gripen (Swedish for Griffin) - the first of the new generation of multi-role combat aircraft to enter into active service, developed by Saab Aircraft AB in Sweden. The new vehicle will be available in four-doors sedan and five-door sportcombi models, each powered by the 2.3-liter four cylinder engine capable to deliver an impressive 260 hp and fitted with a five-speed manual or automatic transmissions without paying extra money.
At the exterior the car comes with a matte chrome front grill, new frames around the Xenon headlamps, a new rear trunk spoiler for the sedan and a roof spoiler and roof rails in matte finish for the sportcombi version.
Also a new set of five-spoke, 17 inch wheels will be available as well as a set of Griffin badges on the front fenders. The new edition will be available in six metallic colors: Jet Black, Snow Silver, Nocturne Blue, Pepper Green, Carbon Grey and Glass Grey as well as the non-metallic Polar White. At the interior this comes with a high-gloss trim, grey piping floor mats as well as two two-tone leather variations: black with parchment inserts and parchment with black inserts. Price of these beauties: $42,775 for the Sedan and $ 44,045 for the versatile and stylish SportCombi (prices include destination charges).
