2009 Frankfurt Motor Show: Fiat Qubo Trekking

Fiat Qubo Trekking

If you´re in the market for an off-road vehicle comparable to that of a light crossover, feast your eyes on the Fiat Qubo Trekking, which will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show days from now. Fiat described the vehicle to be perfect for nature lovers and outdoor sports and leisure enthusiasts. Supporting Fiat's claim are the car's features that include a 74bhp 1.3-liter Multijet engine and Fiat's 'Traction+' traction control system, which gives it tremendous off-road capability. The system is turned on by a button on the dashboard and operates at speeds above 17mph, electronically simulating a self-locking mechanical diff by braking a spinning wheel and transferring power to the wheel with more grip. Adding to its off-road credentials are its ride height that has been raised by 20mm and a suspension travel that is 10mm greater. Styling changes from the standard Qubo include a new front bumper design, an underbody shield, roof bars, privacy rear windows and larger wheel arches. Fiat has yet to release pricing and the date of availability.
