Good news for enthusiasts of the latest MINI Convertible: the British company will open the brand new John Cooper Works variant of the dropdown model in Geneva. The 1.6-liter double-scroll turbocharged powerhouse of the JCW MINI Cooper S Convertible, like its hardtop brother, will get a power boost from its regular 172 hp up to 211 hp.
Torque, which is available within the range of 1,850 rpm to 5,600rpm, has also been increased to a maximum of 260Nm (192lb-ft) from the regular 240Nm. Employing an overboost the torque can still be raised to 280 Nm (207lb-ft). Meanwhile, the MINI Convertible will also receive upgrades in its stopping system and suspension including a series of visual uprates with the JCW branding both on the front grill and tailgate, an understated aerodynamic package and a set of 17-inch alloys with 18-inches as an option.
