2009 Seat Ibiza receives Golden Steering Wheel award

Seat is commemorating a series of remarkable European awards for its all-new Ibiza super mini after the panel of judges in both Germany and the Netherlands designated it top of its class. Earlier this week executives from the Barcelona-based car maker flew to Berlin to gather a prominent Golden Steering Wheel awarded by leading German newspaper Bild am Sonntag, one of Europe's largest-selling names. Selections for the concluding five cars in each segment were done by readers of the Sunday newspaper prior to going on to be judged by an a panel of drivers and celebs including previous rally and race ace Walter Rahrl, and ex-F1 driver Hans-Joachim Stuck. The Ibiza came out ahead in the small car category after being decidedly having the best in dynamics, design comfort and performance. The Seat's low CO2 discharges and exceptional value for money also enabled it to garner the award.
