Kia VG KND-5 Concept
The South Korean car manufacturer has unveiled its latest concept today at the Seoul Motor Show. The Kia VG concept demonstrates the new direction of design that mirrors the forthcoming near-luxury Kia sedan, which is set to hit Korean markets this September. The elegant yet sporty exterior design concept for the VG was guided by Peter Schreyer. The front face of the VG highlights Kia's current family-look and a radiator grill patterned on a symbolic depiction of the roaring countenance of a tiger. Its elegant side profile shows a strong side character line which flows and ends at the stunning rear lights that come with the most current LED technology.
The concept car, which is 4.945 meters long, sits atop a set of 20-inch alloy wheels, and also comes with a panoramic sunroof, which reaches smoothly from the windscreen at the front to add to its open and sleek front face. The VG concept is a front-drive car equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 Lambda powerplant and generates a total of 277horsepower. The gasoline unit is coupled with the six-speed auto transmission with manual shift capability. Kia intends to bring the VG concept to production in the latter part of 2009.
The car will initially be offered in South Korean only, but Kia intends to expand its sales to the global market, including the United States, where it is set to replace the Amanti sedan which is getting to be far along in years.
