2009 Tokyo Motor Show: Nissan presents new-spec GT-R

Nissan revealed today at the Tokyo Motor Show the latest version of the GT-R a.k.a. "Godzilla" which will go on sale on December 7th at Nissan dealers nationwide in Japan and beginning next spring in other global markets. The updated version receives number of enhancements, including a revised navigation system, recalibrated suspension settings and an improved-flow catalyst system.
The 2010 Nissan GT-R features a new HDD-based CARWINGS navigation system with enhanced entertainment functions as well as a USB port with iPod connectivity. Also, the suspension has been retuned to offer enhanced, premium quality ride comfort, while still providing the driver with a feeling of direct contact with the road surface.
The accuracy of the front shock absorbers and springs has now been increased while the stiffness of rear suspension radius rod bushings has been strengthened. The rear diffusers with cooling ducts, which were previously available only on the GT-R SpecV are now available on the standard models in order to improve cooling performance around the rear floor area.
Nissan also updated the GT-R SpecV models which received revised rear shock absorber settings capable to provide a combination of supple ride comfort and flat, predictable handling. Due to this settings, Nissan GT-R SpecV now comes standard with Dunlop tires, instead of Bridgestone tires.
Thanks to the newly adopted hexagonal meshed catalyst cells that reduce ventilation/airflow resistance both of the models, GT-R and GT-R SpecV, achieve now an improved low- and mid-range engine response.
