Production of the Volvo S60 ended last month. More than 580,000 cars were recorded to have rolled off Belgium's Ghent factory during the eight-year product cycle. Before the all-new model arrives next year, Volvo is set to release a limited number of well-equipped S60 SE models. The 2009 Volvo S60 SE, which is exclusively designed for the US market, has only one specification. The FWD model is priced at $30,950 while the AWD version is at $32,750. The Volvo S60 SEs go on sale this month but take note that only 880 units will be offered. Both versions possess a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline five-cylinder engine rated at 208hp (155kW) and 236lb-ft (320Nm) of torque. Standard features include a five-speed automatic transmission and a sporty Geartronic mode to allow the driver to manually shift. Other standard features are the following: leather seating, moonroof, heated seats, sporty 17-inch aluminum wheels, electronic climate control, headlamp washers, and rain sensing windshield wipers. Further reinforcing the car's sporty theme are its aluminum mesh inlays at the interior. EPA rating for the FWD model is at 19mpg in the city and 28mpg on the highway while the AWD model is at 18mpg in the city and 26mpg on the highway.
