Photos of the factory variant of the 4-door Vw Golf GTI MkVI have recently been made available. The Mk VI is externally almost the same as the GTI Concept unveiled last year at the Paris Auto Show. Some of the differences include the two-door concept has become a four-door production model, door panels that have been made more seamless at the lower end, and rocker panels which are less obvious. Both the concept and production version are propelled by the same 2.0-liter 4-cylinder TSI from the Scirocco although the GTI got more power with its 207hp, a 10hp advantage against the MkV GTI. Even though with a top speed of 148mph the powerplant that comes with the GTI is also more economical and cleaner. Features included in the GTI Concept includes Adaptive Chassis control, providing driver-adjustable electronically controlled damper, the XDS limited slip diff and electronics stabilizer system. The Golf GTI is set to begin production this coming Spring with the VW Golf GTI Mk VI hopefully showcasing in March at the Geneva Auto Show.
