The sixth generation Golf has currently been made available and buyers can now place their order for the latest model in a Volkswagen Retailer several months in advance of cars that will arrive in the UK early next year. The bottom price of £13,150 ($22,751 or €16,900) for the entry-level S three-door series with a 1.4-liter 80 PS engine and £20,980 ($36.300 or €27,000) for the top of the series GT five-door that comes with a 2.0-liter TDI 140 PS and six-speed DSG gearbox. The Golf supports several new features such as the Volkswagen's innovative Adaptive Chassis Control which gives the driver control choices ranging from normal, comfort or sport modes to determine the desired suspension, steering and accelerator responses for each unique trip.

Also available in the Golf is ParkAssist which assume control over steering inputs making parallel parking maneuvers a cinch. The readily visible and distinct appearance of the Golf follows the design trail started by the Scirocco. However, what are not immediately observable are modifications that went into the Golf which made it the most refined car ever.
