2010 Aston Martin Rapide pricing announced

UK pricing for Aston Martin’s new Rapide has been released. The car has a starting price of £139,950 in the UK and in the US will cost $199,950. However, this amount is likely to increase with the addition of new equipment and other options.

We don’t know yet what features the standard package will have. In the UK, it has been reported that the price tag includes premium standard equipment such as the Bang & Olufsen Beosound audio system made specifically for the Rapide model, heated memory seats, dual cast brakes and Adaptive Damping System. Powering the model is a hand-built 6.0-liter V12 engine that produces 470 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 600 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm.

This allows the car to go from zero to 60mph in 5.1 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 188 mph (303 km/h).

The engine is mated to a rear mid-mounted Touchtronic 2 six-speed gearbox with electronic shift-by-wire control system. The model boasts its other features: DSC, ABS, EBD, EBA, Traction Control, HBA, Positive Torque Control (PTC) and Electronic Park Brake (EPB).

The Rapide had been officially unveiled awhile back at the Frankfurt Auto Show but it will go on sale in global markets in early 2010.
