2010 Audi A4 Allroad Quattro

Audi always causes suspense for its customers in the US every time it comes up with an upmarket model since it does not immediately release the availability of their cars for that market. This is what happened with the R8 V10 which still remains to be announced whether the 2010 Audi A4 Allroad Quattro will make it to the North American shores. In a matter of seven years from 2000 to 2006 the company has sold an A6 variant of the Allroad only to halt sales when it dropped to 2,429 units in the last year in the North American market. There were no justifications for the importation of the second generation of the car which remained selling in the European market.

Audi now has introduced a smaller variant that may be an appropriate replacement for the SUVs which are fast declining in popularity in the US. When Audi launched the A6 it was a high time for big SUVs and it was difficult for a new concept to rival the popularity of the SUV back then.

However, after 12 months things might have changed and Audi is considering what it will do on the Allroad aspect, whether it is A4 or A6. It is not only Audi who is expecting off-road vehicles like the Allroad to gain acceptability in the US since Saab has lately introduced the 9-3X which keeps the same concept and also Volvo has already been effectively selling its XC70 wagon in the US for several years already. No definite information has been received about the Allroad coming to the US. In Europe, it will fetch a 37,100 Euro ($46,538) price tag when it begins selling this summer.
