APS of Brackley has announced that there is a new performance upgrade for the 2009 onward models of the Audi S5 quattro coupé and cabriolet using the 3.0-litre supercharged, V6, TFSI powerplant. APS, which imports Swiss Sportec range of exclusive vehicle enhancements in the UK, said that Sportec’s S5 performance enhancement package is labeled the ‘Stage One’ upgrade, a free flowing air filter element and an ECU remap. These result to the power levels of the supercharged 2995cc Audi engine, with peak power rising from 328 bhp at 6000 rpm to 425 bhp at 6640 rpm, a considerable gain of 97 bhp. Similarly, Sportec’s

Stage One upgrade offers an exceptional increase in torque output on the Audi S5, with an output of 520 Nm (379 lb.ft) at 4250 rpm, and a boost of 440 Nm (325 lb.ft) from the factory. However, Sportec’s technicians make sure that more than 80% of the maximum torque output is offered from 2750 to 6250 rpm, which is a match to the car’s 7-speed S-Tronic transmission. This also plays up the conversion’s user-friendliness. The added power and torque output created by the Sportec Stage One upgraded Audi S5 and significantly enhances the in-gear and fast cruising performance of the car, befitting its luxury GT credentials. But when used to the full, it cuts the 0-62 mph (100 kmh) by 0.5 seconds to 4.6 seconds. Top speed is restricted at 155 mph due to safety reasons. The Sportec Stage One upgrade is well suited to the coupé and cabriolet models of the 3.0-litre TFSI supercharged Audi S5. It has already started selling. Its APS Sportec is priced at £1950.00, including VAT.
