2010 Bmw 6-Series: first details revealed

Bmw 6-Series Coupe

According to the latest reports, our trusted sources revealed some details regarding the upcoming 2010 Bmw 6-Series. It appears that the next generation of the vehicle will be offered in three versions: coupe, cabrio and a sports GT. Our sources confirm that the new vehicle will not show a radical new design because this will be more like an evolutionary approach instead of a completely radical new beginning. The big move will also be made at the cabrio version because the German manufacturer has finally decided to drop the soft top in order to install a new hard top like the one used on the 3-Series Cabrio.

Under the hood we will see the twin-turbo six cylinder and the V8, developing 326 hp and 407 hp respectively. The vehicle will also receive two diesel engines: the six-cylinder found on the current 635d but also the new Tri-Turbo six cylinder, capable to deliver around 354 hp and 700 Nm of torque, which will be used by the upcoming X5 Performance Diesel.

Also a hybrid model will be offered, dubbed for the moment as the 655i. These engines will be connected to the latest 8-speed transmission, but a 7-speed DCT will also be available. The 2010 6-Series will get a new damping system which will offer 4 different sport settings, as well as the well-known 'Efficient Dynamics', using new features such as stop-stard and brake energy regeneration. The new M6 has also been confirmed but it will hit the showrooms much later.
