Hartge has recently launched its latest tuning program for the 1.8 and 2.0-litre versions of the BMW X1. Hartge’s team of tuning experts has made updates to the interior of the car as well as its performance. The team tweaked the 18d engine, adding 36 hp to reach 179 hp at 4000 rpm from an output of 143 hp. The maximum torque was also increased to 350 Nm available at 2000 rpm. This boosts the sDrive18d to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds -- about 1.5 seconds faster than the standard version. Its top speed was also raised to 217 km/h (17 km/h faster than the standard model). Meanwhile, the xDrive20d offers 32 hp more than its standard version.
This enabled the car to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 7.2 instead of 8.4 seconds. Its top speed is also faster by 11 km/h. The sDrive20d is able to sprint to 100 km/h in 6.9 instead of 8.1 seconds, while the top speed has gone up to a very impressive 229 km/h.
Tuners also installed a stainless-steel rear silencer with round tail pipes (80 mm diameter). Lowering the car by 30 mm can be done for all xDrive models from 18d to 28i with a set of sports springs. A set of Hartge emblems for the bonnet and tailgate is also offered. For the interior, the BMW X1 receives a three-spoke leather steering wheel with aluminum emblem, a two-part aluminum set of pedals for the automatic version, aluminum footrest, and an aluminum and leather hand-brake. Also featured are Hartge velour floor mats that are typically in black but can also be requested in other colors. [via FancyTuning]
