Geiger Camaro SS Compressor

German tuning firm GeigerCars has applied its expertise on the new 2010 Camaro, which completes the trio of legendary muscle cars after the Ford Mustang and the Dodge Challenger. GeigerCars aimed to refine the car using German engineering but it wanted to keep the car's brute heritage. With the Camaro SS as the base for tuning, its engineers chose to increase the output of the car's 432 horsepower 6.2-liter V-8. GeigerCars's specialty is a high-performance supercharging kit and the engineers did just that for the Camaro. Using a mechanical compressor, the engine power was raised to 568 horsepower and 799 pound-feet of torque. Aside from the supercharger, the Camaro SS is also fitted with a high-flow exhaust system comprising new catalysts and mufflers. A twin-plate performance clutch for the car's 6-speed manual was also installed. After having its end gear ratio reduced, the Camaro reached 195 mph but in order to get this power under control, installed were coilovers, adjustable sports anti-roll bars on front and rear axles, and a strong braking system. At the front, there are 6-piston saddles with grooved 380 mm plates and four piston saddles on 355 mm. These reside within 20-inch alloy wheels shod with 295 mm tires in the rear and 265 mm tires up front.
