The new 2010 Citroen C3 supermini has been officially launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show and is set to arrive in showrooms in early 2010. It made its debut alongside the production version of Citroen's DS premium supermini. Mark Lloyd, chief designer, said that the redesign is unusual since it follows so much of the outgoing car. In making the C3, the company realized that nothing much required changing. Since the rising B-segment makes up a third of all new car sales in Europe, Citroen aims to get more than 10% of the market with the C3 supermini. The outgoing C3 has recorded sales of two million. The new C3 has a sportier edge that lends the car a more dynamic, yet robust appearance. To make it appeal more to men, the car's track is wider; hence, it has a better stance. It still is recognizable as a C3 however. The rounded shape remained. Pierre Budar, project chief for the new C3, said that it continues to stand out in its segment. Buyers also can opt to have C3's "Zenith" windscreen, which runs over into the roof.
