2010 Citroen C5 by Carlsson

German tuning company Carlsson has taken the aftermarket community by surprise with its announcement that it will premiere a French model at the Auto Mobil International Auto Show in Leipzig. Carlsson, which specializes in Mercedes-Benz, has chosen to upgrade the family saloon and wagon Citroen C5 and has said that it will design an exterior and interior styling package.

The Carlsson Citroen C5 is actually developed by the company in collaboration with the French carmaker. The C5 by Carlsson will be offered in both sedan and wagon body styles, with an option of either one gasoline and two diesel engines, all in standard configuration, without any power upgrades. The gasoline engine is the turbocharged 1.6 liter unit producing 155hp, while its diesel equivalent is the 2.0 liter Hdi with an output of 163hp. Slotting above these two units is the 240hp 3.0 liter V6 Hdi Biturbo engine.

Consumers have the option of either a manual or an automatic transmission. The styling tweaks include a new sporty front spoiler, side moldings and a rear skirt plus LED daytime running lights. The Carlsson C5 will ride on 19-inch rims and it has been equipped with dual exhaust pipes. For its interior, there will be a new Alcantara-covered steering wheel to replace the standard choice. There will also be new leather upholstery. Additional features include aluminum-finished pedals, stainless-steel scuff plates and a high-tech navigation system called Business Package NaviDrive 3D.
