2010 F1 entry list revealed

rtin by David Richards was not among those in the list, although there is still likelihood that they will be granted entry shortly. This is due to the fact that five of the teams were given provisional entries and the manufacturer-supported teams like BMW, McLaren, Renault, Toyota and Brawn only submitted entries with the condition that their demands to revise the budget cap rules for 2010 were addressed. Continued after the jump! The governing body of Formula One, the FIA, on the other hand, has responded that they will provide entry for these teams if they do away with their demands for changes to the budget cap. The FIA has given the teams until June 19 to make their decision. The FIA has justified its move to grant Ferrari full entry into the motorsport since Ferrari has applied under condition to changes in the budget cap rules also. FIA went beyond the provisional application of Ferrar to hold it to a previous agreement to join Formula One until 2012. Included in the those teams that entered F1 without provisions are Force India, Scuderia Toro Rosso, Red Bull Racing and Williams. There are those who are saying that Scuderia Toro Rosso and Red Bull are in the same boat with Ferrari where the FIA is trying to hold them under previous long-term agreements to join F1. The process of selecting the new teams has not been made available by the FIA. Team US F1 is a start-up team, Campos Grand Prix is led by former F1 race Adrian Campos and Manor Grand Prix is a joint venture of John Booth and Nick Worth, an F3 level racer and former Simtek F1 leader, respectively. There are a number of teams that have applied for entry into the coveted F1, but not everyone is so lucky and among those who failed to make it include Lola, Prodrive/Aston Martin, Litespeed/Team Lotus and Brabham. Martin David of Prodrive/Aston Martin expresses disappointed of the FIA‚ ruling to exclude them from the starting list for the 2010 series since they have what it takes to be competitive and make significant contribution to the motorsport. So, it‚ just wait and see for now for the denied team, although it still hopes that things will change in its favor. [via autocar]
