The buzz is that we all have to watch out for Ford's long-travel off-road capable pickup, the 2010 F-150 SVT Raptor -- orders of which has put the Dearborn Truck Plant at maximum capacity. Ford's Special Vehicle Team spokesperson Patrick Hespen reports that more than 1,500 orders have been taken. All these orders have been for the $38,995 standard truck that includes a 5.4-liter V8 engine with 310 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque. This winter, an uprated 400-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine will be made available for another few thousand dollars. Statistics show that 94% of the buyers are males and the median age is 39. The two most popular colors, comprising 80% of the orders, are Molten Orange Metallic and Tuxedo Black.
