Audi has released further information about its RS5 that's currently on display at the Geneva Motor Show. Powering the Audi RS5 is a 4.2-liter V8 engine, which can produce 331 kW (450 hp) at 8,250 rpm and a maximum of 430 Nm (317.15 lb-ft) of torque between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm. The RS5, which weighs 1,725 kg, is equipped to a 4.2 FSI unit coupled to a standard seven-speed S tronic transmission. The coupe is able to go from zero to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155.34 mph). But the buyers can opt to bring that up to 280 km/h (173.98 mph). Similar to other RS models, the RS 5 also has a quattro permanent all-wheel drive. With this car, Audi introduces the next generation version -- a crown-gear differential. For the tail end, we see two oval exhaust pipes integrated within the bumper. Audi said that the spoiler in the tailgate automatically extends at a speed of 120 km/h (74.56 mph) and retracts at 80 km/h (49.71 mph). What the RS5 offers as standard is a set of 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 265/35 tires. Buyers can however, opt to get the 20-inch wheels wrapped with 275/30 tires. Priced from £57,480 in the UK, the RS5 will go on sale this spring.
