If there’s sufficient public interest in Morgan’s electric vehicle at the Geneva Motor Show, it will be approved for production. The British sports car maker will be displaying an electric version of its retro-styled roadster, together with a manual gearbox, in Geneva. A Zytek spokesman said that this “rare combination” comes from UK-based engineering firm Zytek, the supplier of the Plus E’s drivetrain. Steve Morris, Morgan's operations director, said that this is “an exciting investigation into the potential for a zero-emissions Morgan with near supercar performance.” Morgan will also display its new Plus 8 roadster powered by a 4.8-liter BMW V8 engine and offered with both manual and automatic gearboxes. It will be revealed together with the Aero Coupe, which is powered by the same BMW engine and an all-aluminum construction to reduce weight to 1175kg.
