2010 Honda Insight sales fail to meet expectations

Honda's US June sales totaling 2,079 Insights is a far cry from the 12,998 Toyota Prius hybrids sold in the same month. Honda claims that the 2010 Insight was never intended to directly compete against the Prius but in the eyes of many new car shoppers, they're the closest rivals. In its first year on the market, Honda is selling less than one-third of its expressed goal of 90,000. Dealerships are anticipating that Honda will rebound with a revised marketing campaign highlighting the advantage to the Insight in terms of price.
