2010 Jaguar XJ’s innovative double view sat-nav may be illegal

It may be a far shot but Jaguar is hoping that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will change its mind and allow the use of its double-view sat-nav and video screen on the brand new 2010 XJ. The screen shows different images when looking at it from different directions, so the driver can follow the sat-nav while the passenger can watch a film. Technically it's illegal since US law disallows any device that distracts drivers. Cars are prohibited from carrying entertainment systems in the front. Jaguar actually put in place a system that prevents the driver to access entertainment functions while he's driving. How's that for innovation? Or do you still think it's a bad idea?
