The latest Kia Sorento SUV, which is scheduled to be released later this year, is longer and has a lower ride height than the present version. The focus of the new Sorento is on interior space and quality finish. It comes with a monocoque design derived on the same platform architecture as the Soul, rather than the present model's body-on-frame chassis. The new Sorento will also come with a totally new engine when it goes on sale after its Frankfurt Motor Show introduction this coming September. Its 2.2-liter 185bhp diesel unit will be joined by an optional low-potency diesel engine and also a 2.4-liter gasoline powerhouse. The Sorento will be joined by a new baby MPV derived from the Kia No3 which was shown at the Geneva and is speculated to be dubbed the Rio Plus.
