2010 Mazda3 Hatchback

Just lately, Mazda has held the world introduction of the new Mazda3 five-door Hatchback in Italy at the Bologna Motor Show, in advance of its sales opening set for early 2009. Lately unveiled at the LA Auto Show is the second-generation Mazda3 Hatchback that keeps on the tracks of the four-door sedan. The new hatch will come with identical engines with those set for the Sedan version. Of course, this shows that it will be introduced with two fresh powerhouses, a 148hp (110kW) 2.0-liter 4-cylinder with peak torque of 135lb-ft (183Nm) and a 167hp (124kW) 2.5-liter engine with top torque of 168lb-ft (227Nm).

These powerhouses use high-tech electronic throttle action. A newly designed 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine will also be available for the European outlets. The powerhouse, which was just introduced in the Mazda6, will yield 182hp (136kW) and a torque of 295lb-ft (400Nm) while providing fuel efficiency rates of about 42mpg (5.6L/100km) - making it the most range-economical engine. A seamless-shifting 5-speed and 6-speed manual transmission along with a 5-speed electronically regulated Sport-AT automatic transmission are also offered according to the version.

The most economical of the gasoline engines is the 2.0-liter powerhouse that comes with a manual transmission, and it is measured at 25mpg (9.4L/100km) in city driving while it measures 33mpg (7.1L/100km) on the highway environs for the more bulky Sedan. Fuel consumption in the Sedan equipped with automatic transmission comes in at 24mpg (9.8L/100km) and 33mpg (7.1L/100km), accordingly. Some outstanding parts of the car not usually found in this category consist of the optional self-leveling bi-xenon headlamps, a multi-function monitor, satnav, electronically adaptable seats with memory functions, a surround lighting system, twin-zone air conditioning, a 10-speaker stereo by Bose, a satellite radio by Sirius, Bluetooth interface, and iPod connection. Included in the miscellaneous alternatives are rain-sensing wipers, heated side mirrors, leather covers, and climate seat adaptations.
