Just lately, Mazda has held the world introduction of the new Mazda3 five-door Hatchback in Italy at the Bologna Motor Show, in advance of its sales opening set for early 2009. A seamless-shifting 5-speed and 6-speed manual transmission along with a 5-speed electronically regulated Sport-AT automatic transmission are also offered according to the version.
The most economical of the gasoline engines is the 2.0-liter powerhouse that comes with a manual transmission, and it is measured at 25mpg (9.4L/100km) in city driving while it measures 33mpg (7.1L/100km) on the highway environs for the more bulky Sedan. Fuel consumption in the Sedan equipped with automatic transmission comes in at 24mpg (9.8L/100km) and 33mpg (7.1L/100km), accordingly. Some outstanding parts of the car not usually found in this category consist of the optional self-leveling bi-xenon headlamps, a multi-function monitor, satnav, electronically adaptable seats with memory functions, a surround lighting system, twin-zone air conditioning, a 10-speaker stereo by Bose, a satellite radio by Sirius, Bluetooth interface, and iPod connection.
