Two four-cylinder engines will be added to the Mercedes-Benz E-class range. The first, the E200 CDI, is powered by a 2.1-liter diesel engine while the E200 CGI will have the 1.8-liter petrol engine. Sold under Mercedes' BlueEfficiency eco-friendly badge, both models will be added to the new E-class range in September. The diesel unit produces 134bhp and 265lb ft of torque and takes 10.2sec to get from 0-62mph. Top speed is 130mph. Combined fuel consumption is said to be up to 51.3 mpg, and CO2 emissions are expected to be between 137g/km and 145g/km. Despite its smaller displacement, the 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol engine is more powerful, producing 181bhp and 200lb ft of torque. On the other hand, the CGI takes 8.5sec to go from 0-62mph, and its top speed is 144mph. Combined fuel economy is 39mpg and CO2 emissions are 169g/km. The E200 CDI will cost from EUR 38,734, while the CGI will cost from EUR 39,508.
