Both the old and the new Mitsubishi Outlanders are on sale in its domestic market. Both ranges have been upgraded with new entry-level 2.0-liter gasoline engines. The new version of the revised Outlander is called Roadest and also incorporates the EVO front fascia plus a sporty body kit while the old edition is unchanged. The new 2.0-liter engine is able to produce a maximum power of 148 hp at 6,000 rpm. Both the new and the pre-facelift model are offered with either 2WD or AWD. Pricing for the old version starts at $21,800 while the new model costs from $27,100.
Furthermore, Mitsubishi has recently revealed the 2010 Outlander for the US market, a model that is offered with two engine configurations, specifically modified for reduced consumption and sufficient power. The entry model for the US market is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder powerplant that has an output of 67 hp. If you want more power, you can choose the 3.0-liter V6 configuration that generates 22 6hp.
The current Outlander is offered with the same two engine versions in the US. For now, fuel consumption and emission figures for the revised model are not yet available but it is believed that both units underwent modifications to become more environmentally-friendly. Transmission options vary by engine configuration. If you purchase the 2.4-liter version, the 2010 Outlander can be equipped with either a 5-speed manual unit or a CVT. The 3.0-liter V6 configuration can be fitted with a 6-speed automatic with Sports Mode sequential shift. The car is priced from $20,800.
