If you're in Japan, you can visit your Mitsubishi dealerships now in order to see for yourself the new compact RVR crossover that had been unveiled last December. In Japan, the car is named the RVR and it is priced between 1,785,000 and 2,449,650 Japanese yen (about $20,000 - $27,000). For the overseas markets, the car is expected to be named the Outlander Sport. Powering the car is a 1.8-liter MIVEC petrol engine mated to a INVECS III sport mode 6-speed CVT transmission.
Performance details of the new compact crossover have not yet been revealed. In particular, the powerplant is optimized to perfectly combine reduced fuel consumption, less emissions and an impressive power output. Of course, a lightweight body will add to these aspects.
Mitsubishi said that all models will qualify for the Japanese eco-car tax reduction. The RVR features super-wide HID headlights for a wide, ultra-bright beam for safe night driving; a panoramic glass roof (with LED illumination) for a sense of spaciousness during the day and a romantic ambiance at night; and push-button ignition. For its interior, it has a refined and sporty theme with a black color scheme, silver highlights, and smooth, soft padding.
