2010 Moscow Motor Show: 2011 Vw Polo Sedan unveiled

2011 Vw Polo SedanThe new 2011 Volkswagen Polo saloon has just been unveiled at the 2010 Moscow Motor Show. VW said that the Polo saloon, which will be made at VW's factory in Kaluga, Russia, was developed specifically for the Russian market, with consideration for its specific climate and street conditions. The reason why small saloons are popular in Russia is that during the winter months, they allow access to the boot without cold air entering the cabin. The Polo saloon is offered with just one engine: a 1.6-litre petrol unit that delivers 104bhp. A five-speed manual transmission is fitted as standard, but a six-speed automatic gearbox is offered as an option. VW said that the saloon has been designed for Russian roads and fuel. In fact, the vehicle has been given extensive tests across the region; its suspension is prepared for poor-quality road surfaces; it has a heavy-duty paint to resist salt corrosion; and its engine has been tuned to cope with varying petrol qualities.
