Initially, the Nissan GT-Rs came with the following price tags: for the base model, $69,850 and for the premium, $71,900. This has changed in the course of a year though as Nissan attempts to cope with the global economic downturn with price tags now over the $80,000 level. Last September Nissan announced a price increase for the 2009 models that raised the sticker prices of its cars by $7,000 each up to $76,840 and $79,090. Recently, another hike registered at almost $5,000 each, placing the sticker prices to $81,790 for the base model and $80,040 for the premium. These new pricing makes the 2010 Nissan GT-R more expensive than the original 2009 model by 17% considering the fact that performance for both versions are almost the same, with the only difference is a 5hp boost in power yield.
