2011 Ford Mondeo ECOnetic

Ford has launched two new ECOnetic Technology models at the Paris Motor Show. The first is the new Ford Mondeo ECOnetic that is expected to start being available at European dealerships during the first quarter of 2011. Powering the new Mondeo ECOnetic is a 109 hp 1.6-liter Ford Duratorq TDCi engine that features a standard diesel particulate filter and is mated to a Ford Durashift 6-speed manual transmission.

The car also comes with a special aerodynamic kit, which includes lowered suspension and low rolling resistant tires. Standard Ford Auto-Start-Stop system that improves fuel economy and reduces CO2 emissions is featured as well.

This model also gets a high performance Improved Flooded (IF) Battery with a Voltage Quality Module (VQM). It is equipped with an integrated system of sensors used to detect when the driver performs an action that signals the intent to drive off, such as pressing the accelerator or clutch pedal. Ford claims that this second generation Mondeo ECOnetic is designed to offer a combined fuel consumption lower than 4.3 l/100km (more than 65.6 mpg) and to have CO2 emissions of about 115 g/km.
