The new 2011 Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale, the fastest, lightest and most powerful car in the current range of the sports car maker, made its debut at the Paris Motor Show and will start selling in the first quarter of 2011. This car is inspired by the Trofeo GranTurismo MC and the GT4 motorsport models. Maserati claims that this two-seater car that will be shown at the Paris show features “razor-sharp handling” and is capable of breaking the 185 mph (300km/h) barrier.
The carmaker said that it designed the car to offer a balance between road driving roads and race driving desires. According to a company statement, the GranTurismo MC Stradale was created in response to demands for a GranTurismo, “which can balance on-road driving needs with race-driving desires.” This car is the result of the combination of the handling and aerodynamic lesson from Maserati’s three racing programs.
Maserati also asserts that this super sports car delivers more aerodynamic downforce without resulting to more aerodynamic drag. The car also gives more power (450 hp) without having to use more fuel. Maserati has yet to officially provide pricing information of the new MC Stradale but it’s believed to be priced from EUR115,000 ($150,000)
