2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS

The new 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS made its debut today at the Paris Motor Show! This means you can now go to your nearest Mercedes-Benz dealership in Europe to order your own second-generation CLS. The 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS will arrive in showrooms in January 2011. Buyers will have to choose from five interior colors, five trim part variants and three types of leather. In January, two six-cylinder models will be offered. These are the CLS 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY (priced at €63,427) which develops 265 hp and the CLS 350 BlueEFFICIENCY (priced at €64,617) which develops 306 hp and offers the ECO start/stop function as standard. The range will expand in March with the addition of the CLS 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY, which delivers 204 hp and is priced from €59,857.

Meanwhile, sales will start in December 2010 of the CLS 500 BlueEFFICIENCY with a V8 engine that develops 408 hp. Deliveries of this model will begin in April 2011. Both variants will have the ECO start/stop function as standard. For €868.70, the standard electromechanical Direct-Steer system with Active Parking Assists can be fitted on the model. With this device, the CLS will be able to detect parking spaces as well as park the vehicle for you. Another option available for the CLS are fully dynamical LED high-performance headlamps (priced at €1,773.10), making it the first car in the world to have this feature.

In terms of safety, the CLS is equipped with Active Blind Spot Assist and Active Lane Keeping Assist. Both are offered in the Driving Assistance package Plus in conjunction with DISTRONIC PLUS, BAS PLUS and PRE-SAFE brakes for €2,677.50. The CLS “Edition 1” is limited to the first year after the market launch. Priced from €6,664, this package offers features that include matt exterior paintwork in manganite grey SHAPE, shimmering metallic leather upholstery designo corteccia pearl, floormats with “Edition 1” lettering, black designo roof liner and aluminum pedals. There are several choices for interior trim in the “Edition 1”: poplar light-brown satin, ash black high-gloss or, as an optional extra, AMG Carbon, which is priced at €10,115.
