Lotus unveiled its new generation Lotus Elite at the 2010 Paris Motor Show and announced that this car will be released in the market in spring 2014. Described to be the start of a new era for the British automaker, the Elite is believed to offer a preview of what to expect from Lotus in the future. Lotus asserts that the 2014 Elite is compact and elegant, while still offering the latest technological innovations that Lotus has come up with to date.

For instance, the 2014 Elite will feature the retractable hard top version and the optional use of hybrid technology with KERS. In a release, Dany Bahar, CEO of Group Lotus said that the Elite may be “breathtakingly beautiful” but that it “delivers in all other aspects as well.”

He said that the Elite is a “car of perfect contradictions” as it is compact yet spacious, offers a high performance yet have low emissions, and lightweight but solid. He added that currently, there’s no other car like it when it comes to styling and performance. The Elite has a 2+2 seat configuration, with the front-mid positioned 5.0l V8 engine that produces up to 620 PS. This enables the car to sprint from zero to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) in about 3.5 to 3.7 seconds.
