2010 Paris Motor Show: Peugeot HR1 Concept

Peugeot HR1 Concept

This is the Peugeot HR1 Concept, an innovative urban concept designed to blend a number of genres (city run-around, coupé and SUV) and targeting active young city dwellers. As you can see from the photos, this is a genuine Peugeot concept, featuring genes of the Peugeot Marque, first seen in March at the Geneva Motor Show, on the SR1 Concept. As expected, it is a hybrid car powered by a 1.2-liter engine using Peugeot’s THP technology that produces 110 bhp, but also by a 37 bhp electric motor.

This means that the total output of the HR1 Concept is 147 bhp, delivering a combined fuel consumption of 81 mpg and CO2 emissions of just 80 g/km. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with control paddles on the steering wheel. Innovation is a strong feature of all Peugeot models and especially the HR1.

At the rear, the roof bars serve as an ingenious hinge for the opening one-piece, dark tinted glass tailgate. Inside, you find a “High-Tech Coupé” driving position. The driver and passenger are both provided with a “privileged area” within the vehicle, which is separated by a center console which increases the light levels due to the use of electroluminescent diodes.
