As expected, Chevrolet unveiled today the 5-door hatchback version of the popular Cruze, a show car which will be unveiled at this year’s Paris Motor Show on September 30. You can easily see from the photos, that the new car brings an attractive sweeping coupe roofline, keeping the same dynamic 'stance' as the saloon. The new Cruze Hatchback will be instantly recognizable due to its stylish shape.
According to the manufacturer, the new car will have a cargo capacity close to 400 litres and will feature 60/40 split rear seating. The new Chevrolet Cruze 5-door hatchback will go on sale across Europe mid 2011 with prices announced nearer the launch date. More details are set to be announced when the car will make its debut in Paris. "Hatchbacks play a critical role in many markets. The total compact segment in Europe represents around 4.8 million units which is over a quarter of the total market, with hatchbacks representing around 65% of that volume. We therefore expect to see increased business in a number of regions, while sending out a signal that Chevrolet is now a serious mainstream player in Europe." said Wayne Brannon, president and managing director of Chevrolet Europe.
