At Renault’s booth in the Paris Motor Show, visitors will get to see the ZOE electric car, which is a concept car that made its debut at last year’s Frankfurt Auto Show. This electric car is actually a preview for the mass-market Renault electric car with the same name that’s set to be launched in the market in 2012. The car that’s on display at the Paris Motor Show has been confirmed to be a near-definitive representation (90%) of the vehicle that will be produced at Renault’s Flins plant, France.
Powering the Renault ZOE Preview is a 80 hp (60 kW) electric motor, with a range of 160 km (99 miles). This enables the car to sprint from zero to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 8.1 seconds. This 4-door concept measures 4.10 m long (161 inch), 1.788 m (70.4 inch) wide and 1.54 m (60.63 inch) high. The Renault ZOE Preview concept is capable of attaining speeds of up to 135 km/h (84 mph).
It takes between 6 to 8 hours to fully recharge the battery. But to regain 80% of the batteries, the Renault ZOE Preview only has to be plugged in for 30 minutes. A 10 minutes recharge would already provide a range of 60 km (37 mile). The ZOE Preview is equipped with a smart climate control system that automatically regulates the humidity level for skin hydration. In addition, the car has a toxicity sensor that checks air quality and if necessary, the air vents are automatically closed. The car is also fitted with an electric system that actively releases various scents depending on the driver’s needs.
