2010 Porsche 911 Sport Classic

Porsche uncovered today the new 911 Sport Classic, a new model that brings back the tradition of exclusive small series built in very small numbers, which will make its officially presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show and built in a very limited series of just 250 cars. Developed for about three years, the new vehicle reveals for the first time the newly developed double-dome roof. But this is not all: the car, based on the rear-wheel-drive Carrera S shows a wider rear body with up by 44 millimetres or 1.73" and wider track on the rear axle. What is really interesting is the striking SportDesign front apron with its unique spoiler lip and the return of the legendary ducktail showed for the first time on the 1973 Carrera RS 2.7.

Under the hood, we find the 3.8-litre engine with Direct Fuel Injection capable to develop 408 hp, with the help of a newly developed resonance intake manifold with six vacuum-controlled switching flaps. This engine is connected to a six-speed manual gearbox capable to deliver to the wheels the impressive power of the engine. Acceleration from 0-62mph (100 km/h) in 4.6 seconds; top speed 187 mph (302 km/h); fuel consumption in the New European Driving Cycle of 26.6 mpg (10.6 ltr/100 km). PCCB Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes are offered as a standard to reflect the sporting character of the vehicle, as well as the PASM sports suspension which lowers the entire car by 20 mm or 0.79, the mechanical rear axle differential and custom-made 19-inch wheels.

Inside, we find woven leather made up of smooth leather strips and woven yarn featured on the seat centrepieces of the newly designed adaptive sports seats complete with light-grey piping and on the door panels. This represents a premiere, because these materials were never used before by Porsche. The dashboard is finished in Espresso Nature natural leather, providing a distinctive contrast to the exclusive body paint in Sport Classic Grey. The Porsche 911 Sport Classic will be sold starting January 2010 at a base price of €169,300 , without value-added tax and national specifications.
