In response to the enhancements made by rivals (Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Nissan), Porsche has revealed a more powerful, faster, and lighter 2010 911 Turbo at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Instead of a current twin-turbo 3.6-litre engine, the car now has a blown version of the direct-injection 3.8-litre flat six from the Carrera S. To increase responsiveness, the variable-vane twin turbochargers have been extensively revised and the intercooler and fuel system have been upgraded, allowing for a 20hp power boost to 493bhp. Due to an overhauled Porsche Traction Management system, the new Turbo should be more playful since torque now distributes between the front and rear wheels through an electronically controlled multiple-plate clutch.
