2010 Porsche Cayenne caught almost undisguised

This is the next generation model of the Porsche Cayenne, the German carmaker's most profitable model currently. The design, courtesy of Michael Mauer and his team, is significantly more curvaceous and the exterior is noticeably more fluid. The 911's classic design is evident as well. To try to hide the car's bulk, the car's sides are pinched inwards and there's a distinct hip over the rear wheel.
The front is remodeled to take on a 911-inspired bonnet, tapering to a narrow opening between the Panamera-style headlights. The taillights are lozenge-shaped and they wrap right around into the rear wings. The interior is all new and of better quality. It ha been reported that the vehicle will incorporate some of the interior sub-assemblies used in the Panamera.
Under the hood, there will be the reworked direct-injection V8 engines reminiscent of the Panamera. The normally aspirated V8 will offer 395bhp, enabling the car to hit 62mph time in 5.0sec, while the turbocharged V8 will offer 493bhp and a 0-62mph time of around 4.3sec. The range-topping Turbo S will again offer 550bhp. A hybrid Cayenne was signed off for production in early 2008 and it is expected to be unveiled at the launch of the new model.
