2010 Porsche Panamera sales set to start on September 12

Sales of the Porsche Panamera will commence on September 12. This confirmation coincides with the showcasing of these demonstration cars at dealerships across the German market beginning today. There are three different versions: Panamera S, which comes with an eight-cylinder engine that produces 400 horsepower and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission (Porsche's PDK dual-clutch transmission with seven gears is available as an option); Panamera 4S, which has 400 horsepower and PTM all-wheel drive system; and Panamera Turbo, which has 500 horsepower, PDK as standard and PTM all-wheel drive.
Their pricing is as follows. The Panamera S comes with a price tag of 94,575 euros including VAT; the Panamera 4S sells for 102,251 euros, and the Panamera Turbo is available for 135,154 euros. The entry level model will be fitted with a V6 engine in the next few months.
Although a specific launch date is unknown, it has been confirmed that a hybrid version will be released as well. Germany will be the first market to get the Panamera, but the rest of Europe, South America and some Asian countries will receive the new model sometime in September. North America and Australia will launch the Panamera a month later, while China will begin sales of the car in early 2010.
