2010 Renault Megane Coupe-Cabriolet (CC) revealed ahead of Geneva

2010 Renault Megane CC
Renault completed today the renewal of its Megane family of compact cars with the launch of the new Megane Coupe Cabriolet a.k.a. CC. Set to be unveiled next month at the Geneva Motor Show, the new Megane CC will go on sale in the spring and aims to take on the Peugeot 308 CC, Ford Focus Coupe Cabriolet and Opel/Vauxhall Astra TwinTop. The new car transforms itself from a coupe to a convertible in just 21 seconds and promises to offer extra comfort during open-air driving with the addition of a fixed-glass wind deflector located behind the rear headrests. According to the manufacturer, the new vehicle will also offer better performances due to a new and stiffer chassis as well as the new electric power steering system. The Megane Coupe-Cabriolet will be offered with a choice of seven different gasoline and diesel powertrain options .
Petrol engines: the 1.6 16V 110hp engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox; the TCe 130 (Turbo Control efficiency) driving through a six-speed manual gearbox; the 2.0 16V 140hp engine available with the new continuously variable transmission (CVT), for even greater driving comfort thanks to smooth, step-less gearshifts. The diesel engine range comprises the following Euro5-homologated powerplants: the dCi 110 DPF, mated either to the brand new six-speed EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) dualclutch automatic transmission (see below) or to a manual six-speed gearbox; the dCi 130 DPF which drives through a six-speed manual gearbox; the dCi 160 DPF also with a six-speed manual gearbox. The new Megane CC will be manufactured in France, at the Douai plant, where Renault already builds the Scenic and Grand Scenic minivans. Official debut will be made in March, at the Geneva Motor Show, next to the new Renault Wind roadster, set to take on cars such as the Peugeot 207 CC.
