2010 Renault Megane RS

The latest high-performance model from Renault Sport -- the Megane RS has piqued the interest of many Hatchback enthusiasts. The model is available in two chassis configurations: Sport (for the daily driver) and Cup (daily driver with occasional track fun). Powering the vehicle is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-four that produces 250 hp and 251 lb-ft of torque. The only transmission currently available is the six-speed manual. Chassis setup for the Sport edition leans more toward giving comfort, with its smaller anti-roll bars and tamer dampening.

Meanwhile, the Cup gets a stiffer calibration all around and employs a mechanical LSD for extra grip to the 19-inch wheels. The Cup also gets bigger Brembo brakes. Both the Sport and Cup chassis configurations utilize a Renaultsport Dynamic Management system with three ESP modes (On, Sport, Off) and a Renaultsport Monitor displaying vehicle telemetry. To reduce torque-steer during acceleration (0-100 km/h in 6.1 secs.), a revised Renault PerfoHub was fitted. Styling is inspired largely by Renault's motorsport experience. Aerodynamic elements give the effect of increasing cooling to the force-fed engine and making the car look mean. Its interior has only high-quality features, with an emphasis on comfort.
