2010 Skoda Fabia facelift pricing announced

Skoda's Fabia range the hatchback, the estate and the Roomster MPV has been facelifted and will soon be available in the UK with a new pricing range. The hatch model is priced from 9,330 pounds sterling, while the Roomster has a base price of 11,260 pounds sterling. The redesigned models have new engines, a fresh radiator grille and new headlights that have been widened to emphasize the horizontal line of the front end design. Aside from that, the range also got new alloy rims and is now offered with a wider range of exterior colors. Three diesel units are offered in this range: a 75hp 1.2 liter TDI, a new 1.6 liter TDI that generates 90 HP and another version of the engine providing 105 HP.
These three engines all use common-rail injection and are equipped with a Diesel Particulate Filter. Those who prefer a petrol-powered version can choose from a 60HP 1.2 liter (not available on the Roomster), a 70HP 1.2 liter, an 86HP 1.4 liter, an 86 HP 1.2 TSI, a 105 HP 1.6 liter and a 105 HP 1.2 TSI. All of these engines meet EU5 emission standards. The advantage to these downsized TSI and TDI engines is that they offer improved fuel consumption and lowered CO2 emissions. For instance, the 105HP 1.2 TSI coupled with the seven speed dual clutch DSG gearbox returns a fuel economy figure of 44.3 mpg (53.3 UK mpg) and is capable of emitting 123 grams of CO2 per kilometer. There is a 56 grams reduction as compared to the model it is replacing - the 105HP 1.6 unit that's mated to the Tiptronic automatic gearbox.
